Test a waveform over a real orbital link.
A communications team wants to measure packet performance between its authorised ground station and a compatible receive payload.
A hypothetical brief to explain the service. This is not a completed customer project or a confirmed offer.
The request
- 1 specified ground test site
- An authorised frequency band and waveform
- An agreed number of receive passes
What comes back
- IQ samples within agreed bandwidth and volume limits
- Packet error and signal-quality metrics, where supported
- Time-stamped pass and contact logs

What needs to be confirmed?
Coverage, band, receiver bandwidth, link budget, ground transmission permissions and data handling must be checked before scheduling. No direct customer command access is assumed.
What does it cost?
Technical quote required. Ground coordination, integration, receive time, processing and delivery are scoped together.
What changes compared with launching your own satellite?
Existing receive capacity can avoid building a dedicated experimental satellite. Timing depends on the payload review, permissions and suitable passes; there is no guaranteed slot until the operator confirms it.
| Dedicated satellite | Existing compatible capacity |
|---|---|
| Develop and qualify a spacecraft | Review and integrate the workload |
| Procure and schedule a launch | Agree an available operating window |
| Operate the entire mission | Buy the scoped task and its results |
This compares project scope, not guaranteed cost or time savings. A hosted workload still requires technical acceptance and an operator agreement.
